Popular smartphone company, HTC will hold an event on January 12.
Sense Companion is certainly more convenient on the HTC U Ultra, thanks to its 2-inch secondary display, very similar to LG's V20. The two smartphones feature what the company is calling the HTC Sense Companion, which learns the user's daily patterns to provide usage recommendations and friendly advice.
HTC U Ultra comes with a 12 Megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED flash and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
HTC is also touting the U Ultra's USonic feature, which the company says "analyzes your inner ears with a sonic pulse, and then adapts to you".
The U Ultra arrives with a 5.7-inch 3D contoured liquid surface as well as a second display which will display useful notifications. In terms of camera, the HTC U Ultra sports a 16MP front sensor and a 12MP UltraPixel rear sensor, while the HTC U Play has a 16MP camera sensor on both front and back. So it won't be too much of a surprise if HTC U Ultra comes out with some incredible camera features when it is officially unveiled. To be more exact, they will be available for purchase in Brilliant Black, Sapphire Blue, Ice White and Cosmetic Pink color variants.
General Motors rumbles through the Detroit Auto Show
BMW 5-series: A plug-in hybrid version of BMW 5-series is planned by the German luxury automaker for the first time in Detroit. Here are some of the notable vehicle debuts at the Detroit show, which opens to the public on Saturday, January 14.
It also comes with Sense Companion, the AI-based virtual assistant, but here are the specs first. The front camera can also be used as a 4MP sensor which has four times the light sensitivity of the 16MP sensor - meant for low light conditions. You get a smaller 5.2-inch 1080p display, MediaTek Helio P10 processor, 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage (plus a microSD slot). The 4G VoLTE smartphone is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery which offers a talktime of up to 26 hours and standby time of up to 13 days.
The HTC Sense Companion is said to learn from the user, and provide recommendations such as suggesting you dress warm and leave for work earlier on a snowy day; reminding you to charge if it figures you need more power to last until you get home, and even recommending the flawless restaurant when you're away for the weekend.
The HTC U Ultra further comes with voice-enabled search support. Devices like the Moto Z family and the iPhone 7/iPhone 7 Plus have also made such a move (although the latter got the most flak for the decision).
On the other hand, HTC U Play is 5.2 inch variant of the flagship series. A new set of leaked images of what is believed to be the upcoming HTC U Ultra has been released. The phone can also recommend a good restaurant when the owner goes away for the weekend.
HTC hasn't yet divulged pricing info or launch details for the U Play.
The phone features voice recognition, so it can actually recognise your voice and respond to commands. And reports have come in that the HTC U Ultra has performed decently enough to heighten the expectations of all the tech enthusiasts who have been waiting for an update regarding this upcoming smartphone.
