EPA employees rally in opposition to Trump's choice to lead agency

Joined by a couple hundred other supporters gathered in solidarity, the protesters called for the senate to reject Trump's nominee Scott Pruitt as EPA administrator.

The Republican congressman has gained support from several of his colleagues, and it appears that the elimination of the EPA would lead to each state governing oversight and regulations regarding the environment, Courier-Journal explains.

The recent legislation, put forth by Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz and three colleagues, all Republicans, would effectively eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for good, and the reasoning behind it is confusing, to say the least. The signatories expressed concern about Pruitt's track record and his stance on climate change.

The protests were part of an all-out assault Monday by current and former EPA employees against the Trump administration.

"The Institute for Coastal Science and Policy (ICSP), the Coastal Studies Institute (CSI), and the Department of Geology could potentially be impacted by potential changes in extramural funding programs at the EPA", said Scott. More than 100 people showed up for the event, carrying signs that read, "Save the EPA", "Science is Real" and "We want clean air and clean water!" Additionally, the newly elected Senator, who handily beat Mark Kirk in the November 2016 election, said she was "troubled" by statements Devos made regarding the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

Three UK to buy UK Broadband Limited for £300m
Three has entered the UK broadband market after acquiring 4G internet provider UK Broadband in a deal worth £250 million. Adding more spectrum is a priority for Three especially in the wake of its O2 merger attempt getting scuppered.

"People are anxious about losing their jobs because administration is interested in dismantling, or downsizing in the extreme, the EPA", she said. It is not known if current rules would be overseen by a different agency or if they would be repealed.

"If America is going to have free trade, it must have fair trade", he told the National Port Authority Conference in October, according to a release from his office.

Gaetz has said his bill would shift responsibility for enforcing environmental regulations to the states. A key official helping with the Trump transition has suggested the agency's workforce be cut from about 15,000 employees to 5,000.

Now the EPA's very existence is under threat as a Republican Florida congressman has introduced legislation into the USA government calling for the agency's abolishment.
