We may have a few more details about what the new version of Nokia's classic 3310 will look like.

The iconic Nokia 3310 may be re-launched by HMD Global in the Mobile World Congress this coming Sunday.

In a report by Chinese tech and gadget website VTech, the modern version of Nokia's popular handset from the year 2000 will showcase a mix of the old, original elements and some new improvements.

Just to make it clear, the phone won't run Android, unlike the other handsets that HMD Global (which owns the rights to the Nokia brand) is planning to unveil at MWC 2017 this weekend.

The original 3310 featured a small monochrome display with only green and black colors as options. It will also be slimmer and lighter, but it is already so small we think it doesn't matter. Keep in mind that this is simply a render of the upcoming Nokia 3310, there's no guarantee that the phone will actually look like this. It also ranked high in battery life with as much as 245 hours on standby at only 900mAh battery capacity.

Mobile World Congress 2017 takes place from February 27 to March 2 and is expected to introduce a host of new smartphones and devices to the market.

The Nokia 3310 continues to talk about it. Some reports went as far as entertaining the idea that the Nokia 3310 refresh could be an Android-powered smart device wrapped in a classic design.

Online speculation suggests Nokia plans to reintroduce the phone alongside a more premium device as an low-cost second phone option, creating a wave of nostalgia in the process. But Nokia 3310 will not be a touch screen phone that eats up battery charge.
