In an unusual move, NBC reversed itself Saturday, renewing freshman drama Timeless for a second season.
In picking the show up for Season 2, NBC has made a decision to run with a condensed season consisting of 10-episodes and has elected to move the drama to summers beginning in 2018.
"Timeless" lives again after a last-minute reversal by NBC.
Executive producer Eric Kripke shared the news with fans on Twitter, writing, "The #TimeTeam went back 3 days, and changed history". Initially thought Timeless would be on next summer, now it may be 2018 spring. It sure seems so, because Timeless, previously canceled by the peacock network, will be back for Season 2.
Koeman frustrated with Barkley uncertainty
Ronald Koeman has now set a week's deadline for the Englishman to sign a new contract. "But people tend to forget that we missed many starting players during the season".
This renewal also is further proof that live+same day ratings are no longer the only thing that matters when it comes to keeping a show around.
NBC also ordered a new season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on Friday, and renewed Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med on Wednesday. Add to that worldwide popularity and some devoted fans, and there is a great reason to think that season 2 will be successful and could lead to even more stories down the line. Considering NBC's decision to reverse their decision, the fan support paid off big time! So yeah, we've got more episodes coming. A team comprised of scientist Rufus, solider Wyatt, and historian Lucy must then use the machine's prototype to travel back in time to critical events and undo the damage Flynn has done.
During its first season, Timeless was the fourth-highest scripted series when delayed viewing was factored in, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
