All black everything for Celtics before Game 6 at Wizards

As the Celtics and Wizards gear up for a Game 7 throw down Monday night at 8 PM Eastern, it got me thinking, which team is the better matchup for the Cavaliers?

Usually NBA players say that they just block out all the noise before a big game, so for Wall to say he was thinking about the Celtics' wearing all black "throughout the game" is significant.

Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics with 29 points and 12 assists.

"It was just amusing to me", Wall said to CSN Mid-Atlantic of the Celtics' all-black. "I've worked too hard to be scared of any type of pressure". He and Avery Bradley each had 27 points.

Meanwhile, Kelly Olynyk came in and dropped 26 off the bench, 14 of those in the fourth quarter, and changed the game.

The Celtics did a terrific job on John Wall at the start of Friday night's Game 6 in Washington, holding him to 1-of-12 shooting early on.

The Celtics closed the quarter with a 9-0 run on a trio of 3-pointers, two by Thomas and one from Marcus Smart.

The home team has won all six games of that series, including five by double digits.

The league's report acknowledged errors that negatively impacted both teams.

Coming out of a timeout with the score tied at 82, Thomas came up big for the Celtics hitting an 18-foot step back jumper and followed it up with a 25-foot pull-up three to put the Celtics up 87-82.

Trump Says He Wants To Help Mediate Israeli-Palestinian Peace Deal
Palestinian officials said after the meeting that Trump had not raised any specific proposals to restart negotiations. Trump has tasked his adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner and lawyer Jason Greenblatt with tackling the issue.

Washington countered with the help of a superb backcourt.

For the series, Wall is averaging 26.3 points per game.

So when the Celtics wore all black on Friday, Wizards forward Markieff Morris wasn't buying that it was a coincidence.

"He was terrific", said Celtics head coach Brad Stevens.

The Wizards are not going to wilt under Game 7 pressure, not after the way they won Game 6 on John Wall's three-pointer with 3.5 seconds to play.

The seventh and decisive match in a series between "Boston" and "Washington" will be played on the court the Celtics on Tuesday, may 16.

Lopsided results had dominated this first postseason series between Boston and Washington since 1984, with each game decided by at least 10 points.

Luckily for the Wizards, Beal couldn't reach the ball, and Wall did his job.

WNBA: Elena Delle Donne scored 24 points in her Washington debut and the host Mystics did not trail in their season opener, beating the San Antonio Stars 89-74. Jason Smith was -10 in just over three minutes, the Celtics closed the third quarter on a run that extended to an 18-2 run into the start of the fourth and gave then a comfortable lead. Playing this Game 7 at home is their reward for winning seemingly meaningless games in January and February.

The city of Washington D.C. will be watching Monday night's game intently. Cleveland, on the other hand, will have LeBron James and his usual suspects helping him try to repeat as champions.
