"I'm happy. I'm elated, but I'm still tremendously sad about these (deceased) officers", Sills said about the capture almost 60 hours after the inmates escaped in Putnam County in central Georgia.
Authorities are now conducting a nationwide search for Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe.
The theft was not discovered until after 7 a.m. Wednesday, giving the pair plenty of time "to get out of state", Sills said.
Authorities were pleading with the public to look out for the stolen 2008 white Ford F250 pickup truck with the Georgia tag BCX-5372.
Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills also announced the reward for information leading to their arrest had climbed to $130,000 as of Thursday afternoon. "These are serious, unsafe hoodlums that need to be apprehended".
The two men are wanted for reportedly killing two Georgia state prison guards on a bus before fleeing in a stolen vehicle earlier this week.
"We need the eyes and ears of everybody, really, in this country to be on the lookout for these two individuals", Sills said Thursday. They're stealing cars. We know they did a burglary.

For some, however, the plans appear to fall short of expectations. The houses are in a number of settlements across the West Bank .
Rowe and Dubose held a couple captive and then fled in the couple's vehicle, Miles said. He urged anyone who sees them to call 911 immediately.
"They brutally shot those officers multiple times", Sills said.
After their bloody jailbreak, the two convicts were spotted in the town of Madison where they broke into a house and helped themselves to clothes that would make them less noticeable.
Local authorities in Jasper County, South Carolina, said Thursday afternoon that a potential sighting was reported in the area, but South Carolina state investigators later said the sighting was not them.
"If somebody is helping them and we identify who they are, they will be prosecuted as parties to this crime", Sills said. Rowe has been serving a life sentence since 2002 with convictions including armed robbery, possession of a firearm during a crime and aggravated assault.
They are considered armed and unsafe. Rowe is from Lewisberg, Tenn., about 20 miles west of Shelbyville.
Authorities said the inmates were being transported when they overpowered the two officers, one of whom was driving the transport bus.
"Both officers were known for their unwavering commitment to their job and their love of family", the Georgia Department of Corrections said in a statement.
