KFC China releasing Colonel-themed smartphone

Posted July 13, 2017

Initial reports indicated that the phone in question is called the Huawei 7 Plus, though that seems to be a mistake as it looks like the recently released Enjoy 7 which is also not to be confused with the Enjoy 7 Plus, also known as the Y7 Prime in certain territories.

"KFC and Colonel Sanders have been American pop culture icons for more than 70 years", says Steve Kelly, director of media and digital in the US for KFC. To celebrate 30 years of KFC in China, Huawei is making a KFC-branded smartphone.

While the items online now are all limited edition, the brand also noted that they're planning further product rollouts and collaborations in the future. K-Music will be exclusively available to Huawei users, until the end of July when all mobile users will gain access.

Kentucky Fried Chicken celebrated its 30th anniversary of operations in China.

The Yum!-owned fast-food chain is coming out with a limited edition line of Huawei 7 Plus models made to commemorate the milestone. In 2016, KFC China staffed one of their Shanghai locations with voice-activated robots.

The cases are scheduled for jury trial in York County Court of Common Pleas on September 11, according to online court dockets. He posted his $100,000 bail in the first case and was arrested again several days later on October 15 in the second.

Shenzhen telecommunications company Huawei was also founded in 1987.

The device has a five inch display with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels.

It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. The back of the phone features a fingerprint sensor, and an image of Colonel Sanders and the KFC logo has been laser-etched into the back.

In other KFC-related news, the fast food chain previous year announced the development of a super-thin, grease-resistant keyboard created to sit in serving trays and packaging that charges your phone while you eat. In addition to the snazzy red finish and a picture of the "Colonel" on the back of the device, the smartphone comes preloaded with a K-Music app what allows you to play music over the speaker system installed in KFC restaurants (we can see this feature becoming annoying very quickly).
