It is claimed the three men arrested, first raped the woman, before murdering her and then butchering her body and eating her flesh.
Appearing in court on Monday, three men, aged 22, 29 and 32, were charged with murder and possession of human organs and tissue while a fourth, 31, was charged exclusively with possession of human organs and tissue, The Times reported.
A fourth man was also charged with possessing human flesh.
'Human remains were found at one crime scene in Estcourt and another crime scene at Amangwe.
The man's voluntary confession let to the arrest of four individuals in the central South African town of Estcourt, a town in the country's KwaZulu-Natal province.
Local media has also reported police believe the four might have tampered with graves.

"When the police were following this matter they discovered eight ears in a pot where one man was staying", Majola said.

'Families, people we know and live with have now confessed to eating this woman'.
"We don't know what to do or who to trust", said Majola.
They allegedly killed a woman, opened her up and ate parts of her body.
"Cases of cannibalism are rare in South Africa but belief in traditional medicine remains common in rural areas", says The Times. They admitted that they were waiting for the body parts to attract maggots.
