Miguel Cabrera involved in huge brawl between Yankees-Tigers

Twitter debated the winners of the fight between New York Yankees catcher Austin Romine and Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera during their August 24 afternoon game.

This time, Tigers starter Michael Fulmer hit Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez with a pitch in the fifth, an inning after Sanchez had homered for the fourth time in this three-game series. The Yankees' Tommy Kahnle retaliated by "throwing behind" Miguel Cabrera in the sixth, and Kahnle and manager Joe Girardi were ejected, with the latter incensed that Kahnle was ejected without a warning.

While the fighting was going on, rather than standing toe-to-toe with one of the Tigers players, Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez chose to take a couple of uncalled for cheap shots. Many other players from both sides joined in.

Yankees reliever Dellin Betances made a decision to counter back, whether you think it is intentional or not, by drilling Tigers' catcher James McCann with a 98mph fastball to the head.

Yankees reliever David Robertson then hit John Hicks in the hand with a pitch, but was not ejected.

Alex Wilson has been suspended four games and Tigers Manager Brad Ausmus suspended one game. The league is reviewing the tapes, of which there are many from more angles than Kate Upton has, and when that stage is completed, the Yankees will lose some valuable talent from their roster.

What happened between Cabrera and Austin Romine? That brought both benches out again.

With Aroldis Chapman getting ready to pitch following the Kahnle ejection, "maybe that's one of those things that's on his mind". Betances was ejected only after Ausmus argued.

Martinez is no stranger to altercations, including during the 2003 American League Championship Series, when he threw Yankees assistant Don Zimmer to the ground during a brawl.

Nothing was seen due to Romine wearing his mask, but when the mask came off, it was clear that he said, "I do not have anything to say to you". Jose Iglesias hit a bases-clearing double to break a 6-all tie. Even a couple of Tigers admitted they could understand why the Yankees were upset.

And that was the real mystery of the game, which ended with a 10-6 victory for the Tigers.
