The Birmingham Unified boys lacrosse team’s playoff run came to a sudden halt with a devastating 11-10 overtime loss to South Lyon at North Farmington. BU got off to a real slow start, down by 5 goals at the end of halftime. At the beginning of the 3rd quarter, senior Tommy Stacy had an open field check on a South Lyon opponent that got BU going. This physical display led to 9 unanswered BU goals. With time running out, South Lyon struck late and tied it up. The game went into OT, and a South Lyon player fell and knocked the ball past junior goalie Adam Mondry into the back of the net. Senior Michael Smock led the team with 3 goals in a losing effort.
