The Birmingham Unified girls lacrosse team’s quest for a 3 peat at the state title stayed alive after an 18-9 victory against Grosse Pointe North. The first half of the playoff battle was very tight, with BU only up by two goals at halftime. The second half was a different story with BU pulling away, being up by as many as 10 goals. The Grosse Pointe North head coach told their players to blatantly foul BU, but this strategy didn’t phase BU one bit. Senior Nancy Miner led the BU attack with five goals. Their next game is May 29th against Grosse Pointe South at Troy Athens.
